Microsoft Office File ExtensionsFile Extension PPT and PPSPPT files are generated by Microsoft PowerPoint application. PPS is a show format which is similar to PPT since it stores the presentation but different in a way that PowerPoint launches the presentation slideshow right after opening the file. File Extensions DOCThis extension is used to store documents generated by Microsoft Word Application. There is no presentation format for Microsoft Word similar to PPS. But in newer versions of Microsoft Word you can set documents to be opened in full screen reading mode which makes it look like you're reading real multipage document or book. File Extension XLSXLS is short for Excel Spreadsheet and used to store files generated by Microsoft Excel. Since Excel is used for complex calculations there is no presentation module in it. The easiest way to transform Excel file into presentation is by copying parts of its content (Charts, Tables, Graphs) into PowerPoint presentation. File Extensions DOCX, PPTX, XLSXDOCX, PPTX, XLSX were introduced in Microsoft Office 2007 where they replaced DOC, PPT and XLS formats. The difference is that the new extensions are stored in Office Open XML format which is much easier for other applications to consume and modify. File Extension ONEONE file extension is used to store OneNote documents. OneNote is a flexible application which allows you to create and store free-form notes on your computer. These notes could include different type of content like audio recordings. |
